[Andreas Pereira says Man Utd have evolved under current boss] We have evolved a lot (under Solskjaer). Mentally we are more patient, we work for each other more and more and we have more confidence on the pitch. The way we play is the United way. On the counter-attack. We are very direct and the manager’s played a massive part in that. Hopefully, we can keep that going and he can stay for many more years

He has helped me a lot. The manager and his staff have helped me. As a player I have grown. Especially mentally, I am much stronger than last season. I have been playing a lot more this season and in every game my confidence is higher and higher and I can show the abilities I have got to everyone
<br[Andreas Pereira says he is hoping to see Solskjaer get them back on the trophy trail in 2020] We are desperate to win a trophy. Everybody at the academy is raised to win trophies. We have been winning trophies since the academy until the reserves and we want to do it now with the first team

[Andreas Pereira thanks Michael Carrick and Solskjaer] Michael has been a massive help to me. He helps me every day in training. He coaches me how to receive the ball and how to break teams down. He played a massive role in the same position I play and he has helped me a lot

I study clips of him and I study clips of Paul Scholes and all the United players who played in the middle. But it is especially Michael because he was an expert in turning around and breaking teams down, especially when they are camped in front of their own area

At home, I am always watching football so I watch video clips, particularly of players who played in the number 10 role like Wazza (Wayne Rooney). I try to study everyone. At the club, they also try to help me as they show me videos of myself playing and how I have to do it

[Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira outlines future plans to join Santos] My whole family is from Santos. Since I was little, I grew up watching this. I was becoming a player and I always dreamed of playing for Santos, but I went to Manchester. I got older, then everyone said, ‘Why won’t you play for our Santos?’ I want to go, but I can’t now. I want to play football in Europe, and then I’ll go. I want to go to Santos to win. I’m not going there to finish and to ‘steal’ money. I’m going to play well, so people say: ‘Remember Andreas at Santos?’

[Pereira says Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has told him he would be welcome to switch allegiances] The Belgium coach spoke to me after I was called up. He asked what the situation was, if there was any chance I could play for Belgium. I said that I’m Brazilian at heart, my family is Brazilian. I was born in Belgium but I never intended to play for Belgium. I never thought about that. He said that, if I don’t feel happy one day, if they treat me in a way I don’t like, they will always have open arms

[Andreas Pereira says Manchester United are looking sharp ahead of their Premier League return as they prepare to face Tottenham] As soon as we knew that the season was going to start again, we were very hyped and wanted to play. Everybody is very sharp in training, everyone has been paying a lot of attention. We’re very eager for it to start again. It’s very important, the game against Tottenham. It feels like when you come back from pre-season, the match rhythm will not be 100 per cent but it will be hard for them as well. We want to make it a tough job for them, we want to win. We have a Champions League spot to go for, and we have the FA Cup and the Europa League. We’re going full out in these two months really. We need to push as a squad and make it the best two months we can get
